Dental Implants

Dental implants provide a tooth replacement that maintain the look, feel and function of natural teeth.

Dental implants are simply small titanium cylinders placed into the jawbone to support replacement teeth. These titanium dental implants fuse with your bone and provide a permanent anchorage for a prosthetic reconstruction which looks and feels like a natural tooth. Since 1965 more than 800,000 patients have been treated since 1965 with dental implant reconstructions worldwide.

Benefits of Dental Implants For Tooth Replacement

  • Long term Solution: When placed well they can last a lifetime.
  • Retain your natural face shape and smile: Tooth loss can cause remaining teeth to move and the face can sag and appear sunken and sad. Dental implants allow you to maintain the natural shape of your face and smile.
  • Protect healthy bone: Leaving empty spaces in your mouth after losing one or more teeth can lead to additional health issues, such as the loss and deterioration of some of your jawbone. When it is not being used to support a natural tooth, the jawbone deteriorates, losing its strength and firmness. Dental implants are the only dental restoration option that preserves and stimulates natural bone, actually helping to stimulate bone growth and prevent bone loss.
  • Retain your natural functioning of teeth: Dental implants are the closest thing to natural teeth. When the entire tooth – including the root – is replaced, the feel and function of natural teeth are replicated and a strong, stable foundation that allows comfort when eating and speaking is created.

Dental Implant Placement Process

  • Planning stage: Planning is the most important part of the process. A carefully and intelligently thought-out treatment plan is the difference between success and failure. Specialized imaging is required to visualize the bone condition and three-dimensional viewing to ensure proper placement.
  • Implant placement: Dr Ioana Bogdan will place the dental implant in the ideal spot to form the gum tissue around the implant.
  • Healing: the bone around the dental implant will grow and integrate with the new Neoss implant in a matter of a few weeks.
  • Temporary restoration: if the dental implant is in a readily visible area, a temporary restoration may be placed for esthetic purposes while the site heals.
  • Abutment placement: when healing is complete, the dental implant abutment is placed to connect the dental implant to the porcelain crown.
  • Porcelain crown: once our ceramist fabricates the new porcelain crown to exact specifications, we bond the crown to the abutment.
